Willy Pogany was born in Szeged, Hungary. Besides illustrating books, Pogany painted murals, portraits, etchings, sculpture, and built hotels and swimming pools. He designed stage settings and costumes for the Metropolitan Opera House and sets for motion pictures. Pogany died in 1955. |
